Don’t Miss This Next Week

The NanoEducators Quarterly Forum meets virtually on Thursday, May 28, 6:30–7:30 p.m. ET.
Huy Pham, a biology teacher at Westminster High School in California, will walk through a nanotechnology lesson plan he built for his own classroom: Biotoxicity: Anti-Microbial Properties of Silver Nanoparticles. Students test different forms of silver with yeast and sugar, then observe the effects using a manometer. Pham will also talk about his experience at the Nanoscience Workshop for Teachers at the California NanoSystems Institute.
It’s a practical, classroom-tested look at how nanotechnology can come alive in a high school biology lab.
