Introducing AT³ - The Next Chapter of MNT-CURN:
The Micro Nano Technology Collaborative Undergraduate Research Network (MNT-CURN) has officially evolved! We’re excited to announce the launch of the Advanced Technology Technician Training program, or AT³, as the next step in advancing education and career opportunities in micro and nanotechnology.
What is AT³?
AT3 builds on the strong foundation established by MNT-CURN to provide students with cutting-edge virtual training, hands-on learning opportunities, and pathways to internships and careers in the dynamic fields of micro and nanotechnology. While applications for this year’s 2024-2025 cohort are closed, there’s much more to come, and we want you to stay connected for future updates.
Why Transition to AT³?
As technology evolves, so must our programs. AT³ represents a new era of innovation and accessibility, designed to meet the needs of students and the industries they serve. Through virtual reality simulations, MNTFolio / ePortfolio challenges, and mentorship opportunities, AT³ offers an enriched experience that equips students with the skills to succeed in this rapidly changing field.
Advanced Technology Focus Areas
AT3 spans six focus areas of advanced technology, shown above, in abstract form:
-
- Advanced Manufacturing & Precision
- Biotech
- Micro and Nanotechnologies and Semiconductor Tech
- Quantum Tech
- Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning & Computer Science
- Robotics & Automation
Stay Connected for Future Opportunities
We know that not everyone was able to apply this year, but we’re here to ensure you stay informed and ready for what’s next. Join our community to receive updates about:
- Future application cycles for AT³.
- Exclusive webinars and workshops on micro and nano technology.
- Tips for building your skills and MNTFolio / ePortfolio.
- Internship and career opportunities.

MNT-CURN was a unique undergraduate research program for students in 2-year technical education programs that started with academic-year online meetings and culminated with a summer capstone research experience.
In this program, students from across the nation had the opportunity to learn from and work with faculty at community colleges, faculty at research universities and representatives from industry partners. You can read about the program and its history and success here: ARCHIVED PAGE.
