Director’s Message
I wanted to send this message to MNT-EC partners updating you on what is happening in Pasadena and the surrounding area. I first want to start by wishing everyone directly affected by the fire safety and health.
PCC is closed and many of our students and faculty have been evacuated and several have lost their homes. Several of you have asked how you could help. Two of MNT-EC’s internship students lost their homes, Ani Hakobyan and Jose Gadea. Many of you have met them at ATE PI Conference in the case of Ani or at TechConnect for Jose. I wanted to share both of their GoFundMe sites and if you have been thinking about supporting people affected by the fire they could use help.

Editor’s Note: As a community, as Jared points out, we get to know one another, support one another, check in on one another. As the MNT-EC team, we have been sharing lots of messages to try and wrap our heads and hearts around how to even share such a message as this. How to lift up Ani, Jose, and the many who are not mentioned here? We spend weeks and months and years engaging with one another. Only a couple of months ago, we got to know Ani a bit better in her personal profile and journey.
We also want you to know that the Watch Duty app is considered one of the best public service apps, with critical information, news, and updates on wildfires, for those far and wide who are concerned for the well-being of our students, faculty, staff and all those in these difficult situations. You can head to the website or search for “Watch Duty” in your app store.
