SUMMARY:Fundamentals of Photonics Institute
DESCRIPTION:Frank Reed – Indian Hills Community College \nGreg Kepner – Indian Hills Community College/ CO-PI MNT-EC \nThis in person\, hands-on\,  Fundamentals of Photonics Institute will provide participants with basic photonics theory and concepts supported by hands-on laboratory activities\, an overview of the photonics industry and photonics related careers\, and a review of photonics curriculum. Participants will learn about the characteristics of light and lasers. Each participant will receive a “Light & Optics Experiment Kit” (valued at $100) and a $500 stipend. This institute is co-sponsored by the Micro Nano Technology Education Center (NSF DUE #2000281).
