DESCRIPTION:Zooming in over Zoom! Learn how to use a scanning electron microscope remotely from your classroom’s computer \nDescription: In the last NanoEducators forum\, participants had the opportunity to zoom in on microscopy and its connections to chemistry\, physics\, biology\, and engineering using hands-on virtual research tools. The first session of this series offered an overview about nanoscience and how microscopy tools such as scanning electron microscopes can be brought directly into your classes remotely. In this second session\, Dr. Yves Theriault\, of the NSF-supported San Diego Nanotechnology Infrastructure\, will provide participants with hands-on experience controlling a scanning electron microscope remotely from their computer\, directly over Zoom\, without the need for additional software. Attendees will have the opportunity to image classroom-relevant samples\, such as pollen\, phytoplankton and zooplankton\, gecko’s feet\, an optical card\, and a butterfly’s wing.
