DESCRIPTION:National Nanotechnology Day is an annual celebration featuring a series of community-led events and activities on or around October 9 to help raise awareness of nanotechnology\, how it is currently used in products that enrich our daily lives\, and the challenges and opportunities it holds for the future. This date\, 10/9\, pays homage to the nanometer scale\, 10–9 meters. \nPlanning for various events and activities is underway at schools\, universities\, and various organizations around the country. Whether at home or outside\, there are so many ways to explore advances in nanotechnology and how it is impacting our everyday lives! \nMNT-EC is supporting National Nanotechnology Day with the flowing activities: \n\nListen to one or more of the MNT-EC Talking Technicians Podcasts (Link to podcast page)\nIn honor of National Nanotechnology Day\, October 9th\, the National Nanotechnology Coordinated Infrastructure (NNCI) is hosting the Plenty of Beauty at the Bottom image contest. Referencing Richard Feynman’s 1959 lecture\, There’s Plenty of Room at the Bottom\, this image contest celebrates the beauty of the micro and nanoscale.
